Karpov not Kasparov has remixed Balkan Taksim’s recent single ‘Anadolka’

This is a hypnotic 80s disco-revival flavoured rework of the balkantronica produced outing, courtesy of 80s dancefloor maestros duo Karpov not Kasparov. Here, Balkan Taksim's Carpathians' roots beats are placed over a bed of warped disco grooves, allowing their cruddy rhythms to see a new lease of life.

This remix best represents the explosion of colours that Balkan Taksim evokes through their music and live shows, which saw them appear on the bill of several summer festivals across Europe. Without overwhelming elements that made the original so endearing, Bucharest based duo Karpov not Kasparov has fleshed out the track with dance-skeletal framework and an oldschool 70s warm, floaty atmospherics.
